May in Tetons
May is a dynamic time in Jackson Hole, with the landscape bursting into life after the long winter, offering incredible opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitats. Bears, including grizzlies and black bears, are actively foraging after hibernation, while elk and pronghorn migrate back to the valley. Moose are commonly seen near wetlands, and bird migration brings a variety of species, including bald eagles and sandhill cranes. Bison are grazing in open areas, and wolves and coyotes hunt more frequently as prey becomes abundant. The landscape also begins to bloom, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies, making it a prime time for wildlife observation.
